Starving Weirdos

Formed in 1998, Starving Weirdo's primary members are Brian Pyle and Merrick McKinlay. Hailing from Humboldt County in rural Northern California, the considerably elusive group has amassed over 20 releases and have performed with a laundry list of contemporaries including No-Neck Blues Band, Sunburned Hand of the Man, LSD March, Religious Knives, Mouthus, Yellow Swans, Jackie-0, MV&EE, Charalambides, Tom Carter, Magik Markers, Tarentel, Xela, White Rainbow, Valet, Rob Wallmart, Tom Blood, Spencer Doran/Cloaks, Family Underground, Lucky Dragons, Mudboy, Old Time Relijun, GHQ, Zaimph, Deerhunter, Seabear, Ignatz, Gala Drop, Nackt Insecten, Themselves (Anticon), Inca Ore/Axolotl, and Talibam!

2009 will see the Weirdos collaborate with artists Wilhelm Sasnal and Roman Dziadkiewicz (as part of the EN/OF series), as well as a live release with Tom Carter and Shawn David McMillen.

The group has also collaborated with a who's who of cutting edge boutique experimental music/art imprints, the highly impressive list reads as such: AAG, Root Strata, JYRK, Azul Discografica, Digitalis, Bottrop-Boy, EN/OF, Olde English Spelling Bee, Bo'Weavil Recordings, Blackest Rainbow, Weird Forest, and Students Of Decay.
